Content Assembly

When your content is structured, you can assemble an entire documentation set, which may include technical documentation, marketing collateral, regulatory compliance documentation, and sales literature, automatically.

In manufacturing companies, to specify which components should be included into a specific product, engineers create a document called bill of materials (BOM). Then content creators from other teams, such as technical writers, marketing and sales teams, and compliance officers, have to manually locate the pieces of information included into the BOM and put them together into relevant documents.

This manual process requires too much time and leaves too much space for human errors.

But BOM is not the only input based on which the documentation may need to be assembled. It can be also:

  • BOM written in Excel or retrieved from a PLM system
  • Customer’s order in a structured format
  • Product configuration
  • User’s profile
  • Error codes generated by the software or hardware
  • …and so on.

DITA A.I. can use any structured input in any format, find the pieces of content required for this particular product or requirements, and assemble them into the required documents.
